Just waved off the hardy souls competing in the annual Fellsman Race which leaves from directly behind the cottage.  It is a 60 mile high level rugged moorland route going from Ingleton to Threshfield, climbing over 11,000 feet.  Staggeringly (literally), some people finish it in about 10 hours!
